Hello fellows,
I have a number of devices attached to my 2700 amongst which a Network Attached Server which I use for back up and would like to use as an FTP server.
I am struggling to "reach" it from outside the LAN both if I use the current public IP address and if I use no-ip.com.
I have set up FTP as an application in the advanced firewall settings but I am not sure I have set the net to send all its FTP to the NAS.
When I run Filezilla I get"
Status: Connecting to 81.xxx.xxx.xxx:21...
Error: Connection timed out
Error: Could not connect to server
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Taron

you need to "port forward" port 21 which is used by FTP to the NAS. once you have done that if you can access it on the LAN you will do it on the WAN i.e from the internet
you can set up port forwarding in the firewall section of the 2700.
im sure there will be a guide on bt's support website or this forum somewhere on how to do it if your unsure
Pringles are clever they're like... self regulating. if you can't fit your hand into the tube to get more then you probably shouldn't be getting more anyway!
