BTBusinessHub extending wireless range

I am trying to sort out a friends network.  They have a BTBusinessHub and the wireless doesn't reach the whole house.  I had a Tenda router that can be used as a wireless repeater and tried to use this to extend the range, without success. I could access the repeater but no internet connection.

Are there any changes needed to the hub set-up.  I have followed the set-up procedure for the Tenda unit (same SSID and WEP key as hub, entered MAC address of hub in repeater list, DHCP off).

I don't have any details of the hub or computer to hand at the moment, but would appreciate any general comments on feasibility.  Neighbour would prefer not to run wires.

Hi there,

You don't need to do anything o the hub, just connect the Tenda via ethernet cable and make sure it is on the same range as the hub 192.168.1.xxx.  Make sure DHCP is off (on the tenda) and the computers have 192.168.1.254 as the gateway.

Thanks

Re: BTBusinessHub extending wireless range

Thanks for the info.  I will make sure the Tenda is set up as you suggest.  The neighbours are on holiday so I can't try it out for another week.  I'll let you know how I get on.
