Hi,
I have google.com set as homepage on both. But even when I enter the btopenzone.com url, I get the usual "cant connect" message on firefox, explorer.
What should I do?
Oh, and I am on vista with integrated wifi. Also I was trying in Birmingham town centre where many wifis are available including thecloud and btopenzone.
One thing to note is that I tried this last year and I was getting the "login page" that time.
Also, when even though in the "connect or disconnect" window in vista, thecloud and openzone are showing separately, when i connect to openzone, after getting connected it shows that i m connected to openzone via cloud.

lol, I honestly have no idea. If you connect to a normal WiFi connection can you get web pages? Can you try on another computer?
Once connected to openzone the default page and only page you get is the openzone one, which the router should redirect you to so the router may be at fault.
Thanks

yes, I can connect to my normal wifi.
My default page is google.com and nothing redirects me to btopenzone.com page. I have to enter the adress myself and even then i get the usual error page (u get on firefox and explorer) that not connected to internet. No redirection at all on both browsers.

Connecting to Openzone is technically a browser hijack as it does a redirect to the login page, do you have any addons or security software that may not like the fact that your browser is being redirected? Tried the laptop in safemode?

My firefox browser does have loads of add-ons but not explorer. I hardly ever use it let alone tweek anything in it.
So how come explorer isnt redirecting either?
Oh, and no i dont have accesss to another pc on openzone but I am sure the network works. I m accessing it right in the town centre in birmingham, where it always shows on my pc as one of the available networks. I m sure BT wifi is advertised in town a lot as well. I can bet that its a well managed network.

Further info,
The connection is established as in the "Network and sharing centre" in vista I can see that my pc is connected to network but not the internet (as indicated by the red cross between network and internet). Also, when i hover over connection/network icon in system tray I get the message saying currently connected to openzone netword, etc, but there is no globe on the icon which I usually get when i m connected to the internet. Now that could just be cos openzone is giving me any options for entering pass as I dont get that globe at home either if I havent entered the WEP key (though ,most of the time its automatic, I sometimes need to manually enter it. Once every few months if i restart router or mess with settings).

Hi there,
Openzone won't give internet access until you log into it via the webpage so thats why its saying no internet at the moment.
ALso you don;t need a WEP key to connect to it as it uses the web page for authentication.
It sounds like a hardware problem.
Have you tried on another PC?
Thanks

Spank I posted this in the Business beta forum as well. It seems that a lot of people r having this problem. So its really not an hardware issue. Also I can use the laptop to connect to other networks as well and they work fine.
